Polymer Clay Workshops

Polymer Clay is an incredibly versatile material – it is virtually impossible to not produce a piece of wearable jewellery – short of burning it!  You can make beads using the exact colours you love or need to have to match a special outfit.  It can be rolled, twisted, carved, painted, layered with glitter, foil or natural materials, it can even be dyed!  It comes in a variety of colours and hundreds more colours can be mixed using two or more of the basics.  The best known name for Polymer Clay is Fimo and can easily be bought at your local craft shop.  No special equipment is required and it can be ‘cured’ in your domestic oven.  In the workshop you will learn:

  • How to condition, colour mix and reproduce beads of the same size
  • How to  make two different canes which can be used to make a variety of different patterned beads
  • How to add foil and glitter to a bead
  • How to make tube, bicone and Natasha beads
  • The types of varnish to use

In each workshop you will make at least one necklace and a pair of earrings.  You learn how to string the beads in such a way that you do not have to go out and buy special tools – this whole workshop is geared towards you being able to create unique and stunning jewellery from the start.

Each workshop provides you with tuition, materials, refreshments and lunch.  The whole emphasis on the day is that you experience the pleasure of learning a new skill in a relaxing environment.

Introduction to Polymer Clay Workshops run from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm  – £60 price includes all materials and refreshments
